2nd WFADHD African Regional Meeting
ADHD symposium in Nairobi, Kenya
On 22nd August 2019, the 2nd WFADHD African Regional Meeting was held in Nairobi, Kenya. Organised by the World Federation of ADHD in partnership with the Kenya Paediatric Association and Janssen Kenya, the symposium brought together healthcare professionals to strengthen ADHD knowledge and improve clinical care across the region.

Building Capacity for ADHD Care
More than 135 delegates, including paediatricians, psychiatrists and psychologists, participated in the symposium. The programme focused on building professional capacity, advancing knowledge and sharing evidence-based approaches to ADHD management, with particular attention to the challenges of delivering care in resource-limited settings.
The scientific programme combined international expertise with regional perspectives, creating valuable opportunities for discussion, learning and professional exchange.
International Expertise
Prof. Jan Buitelaar (Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands) joined the local faculty as an invited speaker, contributing his internationally recognised expertise in ADHD research and clinical practice. Together with the local organisers and faculty, he helped facilitate discussions on improving ADHD awareness and care in the region.
