The History of the World Congress on ADHD
Since its inaugural meeting in 2007, the World Congress on ADHD has brought together the international ADHD community in cities around the world. Each congress reflects the Federation's commitment to advancing science, fostering collaboration and improving care through the global exchange of knowledge.
2025
10th World Congress on ADHD
Held from 8 - 11 May 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic.
With more than 2,400 participants and exhibitors from 79 countries joining us in person in Prague, this was the largest ADHD World Congress EVER.
2023
9th World Congress on ADHD
Held from 18 - 21 May 2023 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Welcoming 1,600 delegates from 78 countries, the congress marked the first in-person meeting after the pandemic. The programme featured 67 scientific sessions and 326 posters presented in 27 guided poster tours.
2021
8th World Congress on ADHD
Held as a virtual congress from 6 - 9 May 2021.
More than 1,100 delegates from 58 countries attended 45 scientific sessions, and 147 posters of various topics were displayed during the virtual poster exhibition.
2019
7th World Congress on ADHD
Held from 25 - 28 April 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal.
With 1,600 delegates, this was a very successful congress. Participants from 64 countries attended 49 scientific sessions and the poster exhibition which displayed 295 posters of various topics and were presented in 28 guided poster tours.
2017
6th World Congress on ADHD
held in Vancouver, Canada, from 20 - 23 April 2017, our first congress outside of Europe.
With nearly 1,000 delegates from more than 60 countries worldwide, the Vancouver meeting continued the successful development of the World Congress on ADHD.
2015
5th World Congress on ADHD
Held from 28 - 31 May 2015 in Glasgow, Scotland.
It was a very well-attended meeting with outstanding sessions and more than 1,600 delegates from 64 countries.
2013
4th World Congress on ADHD
Held from 6 - 9 June 2013 in Milan, Italy.
More than 2,000 delegates from 87 countries joined the congress, making it a great success.
2011
3rd World Congress on ADHD
took place in Berlin, Germany, 26 - 29 May 2011.
The well-attended congress with 2,100 delegates in attendance, promoted an excellent collection of scientific sessions based upon suggestions made by members of the International Scientific Programme Committee.
2009
2nd World Congress on ADHD
Held from 21 - 24 May 2009 in Vienna, Austria.
With more than 1,700 attendees from 70 countries, this congress was a big success and a step forward in bringing together outstanding scientists in the field of ADHD from all five continents
2007
1st International Congress on ADHD 2007
and 39th International Danube Symposium
combined into a congress, that took place in Würzburg, Germany from 2 June.
It presented high-quality scientific sessions that started on 2 June 2007 with the Opening Lecture on the Asperger's Syndrome by Professor Helmut Remschmidt, Germany. In the following days 14 Plenary Symposia, 25 Hot Topic Symposia, 26 Educational Seminars, 27 Guided Poster Tours and 3 Video Sessions were offered in an extremely attractive and stimulating scientific programme.
